Vendors

VENDOR RULES & REGULATIONS

  1.  There is no selling on the street (parade route) and/or in front of spectators. Selling is to be done behind the spectators or from a stationary location.
  2. No persons are allowed to dress as Santa.
  3. No fireworks or poppers are to be sold in accordance with Ocala Municipal Code – Chapter 38: Fire Prevention and Protection, due to the potential danger to spectators and participants. Police have the authority to seize such items on sale or in use within 200 feet of the parade route or within assembly & dispersal areas.
  4. Each accepted vendor will be mailed an acceptance letter along with five (5) vendor identification tags, that must be worn for the duration of the event. If these tags are not visible, you will be asked to leave the premises.
  5. Vendor must have a $1,000,000 General Liability insurance policy in place. A copy of certificate of insurance is to be included with completed application form
  6. All vendors are subject to review and a reference check. Entry may be denied without reason. If your application is denied, application fee will be returned.
  7. Vendor may only sell items approved by the Friends of the Christmas Parade.  Only items that you list on your application may be sold. Be sure and list ALL products and prices that will be sold by your organization.
  8. Vendors must be completely set up and ready to sell no later than 4:00 PM on the day of the parade. 
  9. The Vendor Permit identification badges must be worn and visible by all vendors and those selling for them. Law Enforcement and Parade Officials will be enforcing this along the route and will remove vendors without the necessary badges.
  10. All Vendors and those selling for them are expected to act in a courteous and professional manner. Failure to do so will be noted, written up and taken into consideration in issuing vendor permits for the organization in future parades.
  11. Any Vendors who possess or are under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be violating a City of Ocala ordinance and will be removed from the parade route. There will be canine units patrolling the route.
  12. THE COMMITTEE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY VENDOR REQUEST. VENDOR RULES MUST BE FOLLOWED. NO EXCEPTIONS! PARADE OFFICIALS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE ANY VENDOR FROM THE PARADE ROUTE IF RULES ARE NOT FOLLOWED.
